Our “How to Create and Retain Critical IP from a Retiring Workforce” Session is 2:45-3:45 in the Birch Room
Leading energy companies estimate that 50-60% of their engineers will retire in the next 5-10 years. Creating and retaining their critical Intellectual Property (IP) will be essential to ensure SOPs and other critical documents remain up to date and operations run incident free.
What is your transition plan? Do you have systems and processes in place for capturing their knowledge? In this session you will learn about some valuable processes and tools that not only capture essential process information, but also the small tips and tricks that only field workers know and learn when on the job – information that gets lost when an employee retires. This “offboarding” process can be automated and be fully auditable to ensure quality, conformance and control.
